The Tonawanda Aquettes Artistic Swimming Team

The Town of Tonawanda Aquettes is an elite artistic (synchronized) swimming team with a family of athletes from throughout Western New York. The team travels throughout the country representing our community in local, state, regional, and national competitions. Each year our athletes qualify and attend several National Network training camps held at the US Olympic Training Centers.

The Team has produced several U.S. National Team members, including 2016, 2021 Olympian and 2024 Olympic Silver Medalist Anita Alvarez, who have competed at U.S. Team Trials, Olympic Team Trials and internationally for the United States. Aquettes Alumni have also gone on to compete in College receiving athletic scholarships.

Novice Team Program

This introductory synchronized swimming program is designed for swimmers interested in learning about the sport of synchro/artistic swimming. Basic skills, technique, and choreography will be worked on throughout the year, with two competition-style “play days” and an end-of-season Novice show.

Our Mission Statement

Our Philosophy is to provide an elite competitive team experience including development of technical, artistic, physical, and personal growth in a progressive group program.

To demonstrate strong leadership, positive attitudes, both in criticism and praise, enforce rules, and allow for the great opportunities of teamwork, spirit, travel, and friendship. To build working relationships with athletes and parents assisted by the TTA booster board.

Getting Started with Artistic Swimming

Does your child love swim, dance, and gymnastics? The Tonawanda Aquettes are always welcoming new members to our program.

There are a couple of options where your child can learn the basics of artistic swimming before joining the competitive team.
