Synchronized Swimming, now known as Artistic Swimming in the international and Olympic communities, has roots in Western New York dating back to 1961 with the founding of the Tonawanda Aquettes.
The Tonawanda Aquettes have marked Buffalo, NY and the surrounding areas as an incubator for excellence in synchronized swimming.
From national championships, to collegiate athletics, all the way up to the Olympic Games, the Tonawanda Aquettes is a name known around the world.
The Tonawanda Aquettes have long been involved in the Western New York community, giving back and participating in community events throughout the Buffalo area.
